Mission: Inspired by the devotion of our patroness, St. Helena, who sought and found the True Cross, the Altar Society is dedicated to the care and beautification of the Church altar, sanctuary, sacristy, nave, and adoration chapel at Holy Cross Church. We seek to ensure a dignified and reverent environment, suitable for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and other sacramental celebrations.
Liturgical and Sacramental Care:
· Linens & Vestments – Wash, iron, repair, launder
· Vessel (chalices, patens, ciboria, etc.) – Preparation for Mass
· Supplies – Manage supplies of hosts, wine, candles, incense, missals, etc.
· Planters and Floral Arrangements – Placement and care
· Seasonal Décor – Decorate for Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter
Church Cleaning and Maintenance:
· Sanctuary, Sacristy, Nave, and Adoration Chapel
· General Maintenance – Fill holy water fonts, straighten pews and missals, replace votive candles.
· Other Duties as Needed
