Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds. Youth and Adult Confirmation
Youth Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation is offered to 8th-grade students who meet the preparation requirements. This milestone sacrament strengthens their faith and deepens their relationship with the Church and the Holy Spirit.
Requirements for Youth Confirmation:
- Religious Education:
- Students must complete two consecutive years of religious education.
- Public school students in grades 7 and 8 must attend religious education classes throughout the school year.
- Catholic school students in grade 8 are required to attend classes until they are confirmed.
- Older students with limited or no formal religious education will receive individualized preparation.
- What to Expect:
- Youth Confirmation candidates will:
- Learn about the Catholic faith and its teachings.
- Actively participate in parish worship and community activities.
- Reflect on their personal decision to embrace the faith they were baptized into.
Parents and sponsors play a vital role in supporting candidates during this journey and are encouraged to participate actively in the preparation process.

Adult Confirmation
While many Catholics receive Confirmation as young people, some may not have had the opportunity. The Adult Confirmation Program is designed for Catholics who were baptized, received First Eucharist, and attended religious education but did not receive Confirmation.
Program Details:
- A four-week preparation program offering an overview of the essentials of the Catholic faith.
- Participants will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation during Pentecost Sunday Mass at the Cathedral.
This program is a meaningful opportunity for adults to be “sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit” and deepen their commitment to the Church.
