The Eucharist is “the source and summit of the Christian life.” The Eucharist is the efficacious sign and sublime cause of that communion in the divine life and that unity of the People of God by which the Church is kept in being. It is the culmination both of God’s action sanctifying the world in Christ and of the worship men offer to Christ and through him to the Father in the Holy Spirit (CCC 1324-1325)

Communion at Mass
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion distribute the Body and Blood of Christ during Communion time at Mass.
First Holy Communion
Sacrament preparation is offered though our Parish School. Children in our parish make their First Holy Communion as second-graders in the spring, if all requirements are met. First Holy Communion for older children can be arranged on an individual basis. Public school students attend weekly classes. Second grade Parochial school students receive their religious instruction and sacrament preparation during the regular school day and join us throughout the year for specified rehearsals and celebrations. These activities provide a great opportunity to get to know others who will also celebrate these sacraments at our parish. Preparation for First Holy Communion includes instruction on the Mass and Eucharist.
Communion for the Homebound and Ill
Ministers receive consecrated hosts at the end of Mass. On Sunday or during the week, the ministers or clergy visit with parishioners who are homebound, ill, or in a care facility. Viaticum refers to the final reception of Eucharist by those who are near death. It is often celebrated in conjunction with the anointing of the sick.
